Hello Friends and Supporters,

We hope you are all in good health and enjoying the beginning of summer.

Continue reading below to learn more about how you can help us in the fight against breast cancer in our community, hear an update from Dr. Evans, and more!

Support the new mammography machine at SNMH

The new Siemens Mammomat Inspiration mammography machine

One in eight women living in the United States will develop breast cancer in her lifetime. Mammography is the best tool for early detection of breast cancer. Please join us in the fight against this disease by making a gift toward a new, state-of-the-art mammography machine in the Women's Imaging Center at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital.

Your can help us reach our goal of $150,000. To date, we are at $90,000. The hospital will cover the remaining project cost (about $200,000). We hope to provide $150,000 to the hospital within a few months.

Help us hit our goal by the end of June!

Click the above donate now button to make a secure online donation to our breast cancer fund. You can also send a check made out to SNMHF to PO Box 1810, Grass Valley, CA 95945 or give us a call at (530) 477-9700 to make your donation over the phone.

2020 Starry, Starry Nights Cancelled due to Covid-19

Our promise at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Foundation is that we will be committed to the overall improvement of health in our community. As such, we have come to the difficult decision to cancel this year's Starry, Starry Nights due to the spread of Covid-19, as well as event restrictions that have come down from the State of California.

Although this event is cancelled, the need to raise funds for our hospital remains as vital as ever. If you would like to make a gift to any one of our crucial and ongoing needs, please visit www.supportsierranevada.org/donate or give us a call at (530) 477-9700. You can also send a check made out to SNMHF to PO Box 1810, Grass Valley, CA 95945.

Thank you!

Facemasks Needed!

Our hospital continues to need cloth masks! Finished masks may be dropped off in a box located at the front door of the SNMH Foundation office (140 Litton Drive, Suite 220, Grass Valley) between 1-4 Monday – Friday. Please put masks into a ziplock bag or another bag that can be closed. Include a note with your name, contact information, and how many masks you have included. We also ask that masks be washed prior to delivery.

Mask information can be found at supportsierranevada.org/snmhcovid19facemasks. You may use a pattern off of the internet. If you have questions, please contact us at infosnmhf@dignityhealth.org or call (530) 477-9700.We are incredibly grateful to our community for your assistance. Masks are being heavily utilized and our hospital team is very grateful.

Honoring Cancer Survivors

Five SNMH Auxiliary members (standing left to right: Patty Kuehirt, Katy McKay, Suzanne Nobles and seated Fran Thompson and Laurie Whitsel) held a picnic honoring cancer survivors in our community.  If you are a cancer survivor, please remember to send a picture of yourself and family/friends to infoSNMHF@dignityhealth.org during June when we celebrate those that have successfully navigated their cancer journey.

Preparing in advance for your medical appointments

While medical facilities across Nevada County are taking all the necessary precautions to ensure the health and wellbeing of patients, you can do your part by preparing in advance for your appointment.

Double check to make sure you have a cloth face covering and hand sanitizer. Having your health information, medications and allergies, written down ahead of time is also optimal.

Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Foundation has a free medication and allergy card that is small enough for your wallet. Please contact the office at (530) 477-9700 or email us at infoSNMHF@dignityhealth.org (make sure to give us your mailing address), if you would like one.
