The 2026 Barbara Schmidt Millar Triathlon was a resounding success this past Sunday, August 30, at the beautiful Cascade Shores in Nevada City, bringing the community together to celebrate strength, perseverance, and hope in support of essential breast cancer services at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital.
This year’s event saw a fantastic turnout, with 38 athletes competing in the triathlon, 35 participating on relay teams, and 57 joining the 5K Run/Walk. The day featured an incredible display of athleticism, highlighted by our top individual finishers:

Beyond the competition, the event served as a vital reminder of our collective commitment to empowering women and ensuring our neighbors have access to critical mammograms, diagnostic testing, and treatment support. We are profoundly grateful to every participant, volunteer, and supporter whose energy and dedication made this year’s milestone event a meaningful success for breast health in our community.
